Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care CHC50113

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care CHC50113 prepares students to become qualified early childhood educators. We provide the skills, knowledge and understanding required for this demanding and fulfilling career. Our expert Trainers are committed to inspiring, encouraging and supporting our students as they start their journey in this rewarding industry.

Qualified early childhood educators have responsibility for the supervision of staff, students and volunteers. In most states this is the qualification required at Director or Service Manager level. This course provides a qualification that is nationally recognised and in high demand.

With most children today living in a family where both parents work, the need for quality childcare is growing every day. Many early childhood education and care services have long waiting lists, which means that more services are needed - and with the need for more services, comes the need for greater numbers of qualified Educators.

This is a distance or classroom-based course with vocational work placement. This means that you will complete your knowledge and basic skills development through distance learning with weekly training or in our classroom-based program at our Kangaroo Point campus (for eligible South-East Queensland residents). You will also undertake 240 hours of vocational work placement. This will allow you to practise and master practical skills and gain invaluable workplace experience and contacts.

MMSEC offers weekly intakes for distance delivery

Hello my name is Kathy. I started my Diploma of Early Childhood and Care in August 2015. It is an 18 month course, so I am past the half way point. One of the main reasons I chose to pursue a career in childcare is the fact that I am a single mother. A job that suits my children’s schooling and extra-curricular activities is incredibly important to me. I previously worked in cleaning services – cleaning houses, but the job gave me no enjoyment or vision. I really enjoy caring for children. As I go through my course, I feel a strong level of motivation and inspiration.

Since the day I started my course I have been very impressed with Mary McConnel’s staff. Every week I get a phone call from my Trainer asking me if I need help with anything. My Trainer goes through my assessment step-by-step. I feel so confident in doing this course because of all the support I get from the Mary McConnel team. If anyone is thinking of following my path and getting their Diploma of Early Childhood and Care, do not hesitate. Go straight to the Mary McConnel School of Early Childhood. I can’t recommend them enough!
